Sara Anger

Director of Operations

Sara Anger is no stranger to community service, nonprofits & the military. She is a mother & Army wife who has always had a passion for helping others. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, she has experienced first hand the aid an animal can bring to treatment both physically and mentally. Her connection with animals started young, flourished in her adult years and is blossoming with her work now in Texas. Volunteering to teach horsemanship to children in the community reinvigorated the cowgirl inside her.

Born and raised in Philadelphia she wasn’t exposed to horses on a regular basis; however would watch in awe when she encountered one. During clinical rotations she fell in love with Equine Therapy and set a bucket list goal of working within her profession with animals. After finally finding her home in TX she was exposed to horseback riding and the power it has to change your mood, mindset, personality everything.

When her husband returned home from OEF in 2008 she also witnessed first hand the effects of Combat Trauma and lack of Support during his transition to civilian life. It was during this time that she started to envision creating a program for veterans and their families.

Currently she is the Director of Quality Assurance, Clinical Operations & Physical Therapist Assistant for No Limits Staffing Services in TX. Without their support she wouldn’t have the opportunity to volunteer with Hounds & Heroes and work behind the scenes to get initiatives off the ground.

She enjoys the outdoors, plants (so many plants, see ‘enjoys outdoors’), holistic health, reading, creating, & dancing in her kitchen with her family. She currently has 2 of her own pups and is fostering to adopt large lap dogs. Rescuing has always been a passion, it's in her very soul. Her family is her world, and the rescue life is what helps drive them and keeps them close.
