Lisa Pellegrene
Foster and Adoption Coordinator
Lisa Pellegrene is a lifelong animal welfare advocate and rescuer, as well as a producer, author, journalist, and publicist, and the founder of Be Epic Media, a company focused on inspiring books, publicity, and film production. Her work is devoted to advancing compassionate, love-based change and reflects her guiding belief that when love leads, transformation follows. With more than two decades of experience rescuing and rehabilitating dogs and horses, Lisa’s advocacy has shaped both her personal journey and professional mission.
She is the author of Be Epic, Choose Love, Be Epic, Choose Love: The Inspiration Continues, and A Glimpse Into the Sunshine, as well as the ethics document Love Must Take Presence, which advocates for humane treatment and ethical reform. Lisa has also co-written, edited, and published books across fiction, nonfiction, and children’s literature, helping other authors bring their stories to life.
Lisa has built a career at the intersection of media, storytelling, and advocacy. She ran the Los Angeles branch of a Rottweiler rescue, co-founded Pittie’s Angels to raise awareness for unfairly stigmatized breeds, and founded Idea Analyst & Associates, a consulting practice supporting nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and filmmakers. Through Be Epic Media, she develops and promotes purpose-driven projects that elevate ethical reform and animal welfare.
With a background in film production, Lisa is currently producing the documentary Let Love Lead the Way, which addresses the shelter crisis and explores scalable solutions to save healthy and medically treatable animals through foster networks, improved intake practices, and expanded community resources.
Her mission includes strengthening foster networks in high-crisis regions, improving shelter intake processes to increase pet retention, and advancing reforms so that no healthy or treatable animal is euthanized. Every animal deserves a pathway to adoption.
Inspired daily by her rescued animals — including her Quarterhorse, Duke and her dogs Alex, Teddy, and Yoda — Lisa continues to embody her belief that love is action, courage, and compassion in motion.
